Coming to iPhone & iPad

Walk into your checkride already knowing what it feels like.

Avora is a virtual checkride experience. An AI examiner asks like a real DPE — one question at a time — then grades you against the ACS and shows you exactly what to study next.

Grounded in FAA sources only. Never gamified.

Practice session · not a real exam

You mentioned the TAF. What's its valid period, and how does it factor into whether you need to file an alternate?
A TAF is usually valid for 24 or 30 hours and covers the area within 5 SM of the airport…

The examiner is considering…

Answer the examiner…

The oral is the hard part

You can study every handbook and still have no idea how the conversation will go.

The checkride oral isn't a written test — it's a discussion with an examiner who follows up, probes, and expects you to think out loud. Avora lets you rehearse that conversation honestly, as many times as you need, before it counts.

How it works

One calm loop: practice, debrief, study what matters.

01

Practice the oral

Pick a task, an area, or a full mock. The examiner asks one question at a time — push-to-talk or type. Scoring is silent, just like the real thing.

02

Get an honest debrief

Element-by-element results against the ACS, with mono codes, labeled chips, and FAA references to review. No vanity score — just the truth.

03

Know what to study next

Every result feeds a weakness-driven readiness map and study plan, so your next session targets exactly where you're weakest.

The debrief

The one expressive moment — your results, scored against the ACS.

ACS codes appear here for the first time, never mid-exam. Each element is marked Satisfactory, Marginal, or Unsatisfactory — color and label — with the FAA references to go review. Results write straight to your readiness map.

Solid on observed weather — METARs, PIREPs. Forecast products are the gap: TAF valid periods needed prompting.

Everything in the app

Built around how examiners actually test you.

Practice oral sessions

One task, one area, a full mock, or a drill built from your weak codes. Gentle, realistic, or tough.

ACS-scored debriefs

Element-by-element grading with strengths, areas to review, and the exact FAA references.

The ACS library

Every area, task, and element for your rating — searchable by code like PA.I.C.

Unlimited flashcards

Weighted toward your weakest codes. No streaks, no confetti — unlimited on every plan.

Ask the instructor

Ground-school questions answered from FAA sources only, with the source named every time.

Written-code targeting

Enter the codes you missed on your written. The examiner retests them — like a real DPE.

Why you can trust it

Grounded, honest, and never gamified.

FAA sources only

Answers come from the ACS, the regulations, the AIM, and FAA handbooks — never third-party brain dumps. Citations are always shown.

Honest about being AI

Every score and answer carries a quiet reminder: it can be wrong, so verify with your CFI. We never pretend to be the FAA.

Transparent in beta

We show exactly how much of the catalog is validated. You always know what's real and what's still being built.

For CFIs

Free instructor accounts. See your students' readiness — never their transcripts.

Students link to you with a code. You see a readiness map, ranked weaknesses with the source of the signal, and debrief summaries — metrics only, never the exam conversations. Then generate an ACS-anchored ground syllabus from their weakest areas in one click.

  • Student roster with readiness, top weak area, and checkride flags
  • Rules-based syllabus generator — editable, versioned, printable
  • Reusable lesson library anchored to ACS tasks
  • Printable instructor log for final reviews

CFI accounts are always free — no AI features, just the tools.

FAQ

Questions, answered honestly.

When does Avora launch?
We're in beta now and preparing the App Store release. Avora will launch on iPhone and iPad — add yourself to the waitlist on launch and we'll let you know the moment it's live.
Which ratings are supported?
Avora starts with the Private Pilot — Airplane checkride (FAA-S-ACS-6), the full ACS. Instrument and additional ratings follow after launch.
Where do the answers come from?
FAA sources only — the ACS, the FAR/AIM, the Airplane Flying and Aviation Weather handbooks, PHAK, the Risk Management Handbook, and FAA advisory circulars — with the source named. Practice tasks map to ACS codes like PA.I.C. It's an AI study aid, so verify anything surprising with your CFI.
Is this an FAA product?
No. Avora is a study aid, not flight instruction, and is not affiliated with the FAA. Scores are AI-assessed practice metrics and don't predict checkride outcomes.
What does it cost?
Pricing is being finalized with our beta pilots and lands at launch. Flashcards are unlimited on every plan, and CFI accounts are free.
